With life expectancy and newborns simultaneously on the rise, it’s estimated that the aged care workforce needs to triple from 366,000 to 980,000 by 2050. Sheesh. We need to get a wider, younger range of Australians interested in a career in aged care. Double sheesh.

The thing is, aged care isn’t all prepping pills and fluffing pillows. By talking to workers in the industry, we learned that hard skills is only one side of the coin.

The majority of the job is about making a real difference to peoples lives through human connection.

In aged care, sharing what makes you happy can make others happy too.
